Motion Society hires Chanel Simmons as U.S. Managing Director
Motion Society has named Chanel Simmons as its Managing Director, U.S., elevating the former Spotify, Meta and Fullscreen executive to lead the creator-economy firm’s U.S. operations. The appointment comes as the company works with about 650 creators and distributes more than 30,000 videos each month, including work associated with creators such as Jesser, Stephen Sharer and Lizzy Capri.
Simmons has spent more than a decade in the creator economy, holding roles at Fullscreen where she led YouTube syndication and worked on FaZe Clan’s owned channels and a 50-strong creator roster, followed by stints at Meta and Spotify focusing on digital content partnerships, onboarding creators and expanding YouTube programming onto Spotify.
In her new role at Motion Society, she will oversee a content-lab business that tests ideas to determine where a piece of content has the best chance to succeed. The operation relies on a proprietary operating system intended to speed up workflows for the company’s 50-plus staff, with the goal of freeing time for strategic and creative work on Motion Society’s creator partners. The company uses performance data from platforms to inform the OS, enabling staff to see how thousands of videos have performed across platforms.
“Motion Society consistently stood out,” Simmons said, adding that the team understands both creators and platforms and brings “a deeply informed point of view on how creator content could succeed on Spotify.” The company’s leadership emphasized a blend of strong creatives, platform expertise and technology to enable more focus on strategy and content.
Motion Society was founded in 2022 by Martin Belotti (creator of LADB Restoration), Thomas Subra (CEO), COO Jean-Loup Fraudin and CPO/engineer Lucas Falga. The founders described building the proprietary OS and a partner model aimed at helping creators grow while maintaining quality and control over their content.
