Family Guy reveals Halloween trailer with Kieran Culkin voicing the Devil
Deadline reports that Hulu will air Family Guy: Happy Hell-o-ween on October 5, bringing back the series’ Halloween special format. The episode features Kieran Culkin voicing the Devil, continuing the show’s long-running Halloween tradition that dates back to 2006. The project is a 20th Television Animation production, with the familiar Family Guy core cast returning for the special alongside exec producers who oversee the broader series.
The voice cast is led by Seth MacFarlane, who is the creator and an executive producer, joined by Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Mila Kunis, Mike Henry, Patrick Warburton, and Arif Zahir. Deadline notes the involvement of MacFarlane in both the creative and production leadership roles for the series in general.
Synopsis: The trailer and synopsis describe Brian and Stewie finding themselves in Hell — paying for 24 seasons’ worth of bad behavior. When they manage to annoy even the Devil himself, they end up in charge. The setup leans into Family Guy’s signature blend of surreal underworld visuals and irreverent humor as quick flashes show Hell’s familiar motifs: flames, skeletons, demons, and other gags, including a mariachi band and various tortured comical bits.
The trailer also features a cameo moment with Peter Griffin, including the line: “In real life, I’m choking on a Now and Later that I refuse to chew.” It’s presented as a teaser for what viewers can expect in the Halloween special, continuing the show’s pattern of festive, self-referential episodes during Halloween and seasonal events.
As with prior Family Guy specials, the project is framed within a broader production ecosystem: the series is produced by 20th Television Animation, and the show’s regular ensemble—MacFarlane, Borstein, Green, Kunis, Henry, Warburton, and Zahir—remains central to the voice work. Rich Appel and Alec Sulkin serve as executive producers and showrunners, while other longtime producers and writers are listed among the series’ executive team. Deadline’s coverage reiterates the ongoing cadence of annual Halloween and holiday specials that have become a hallmark of the show on Hulu.
